From what I hear Scheif's rehab is coming along great and he is ahead of schedule.
I don't see any big moves from Chevy other than to shore up their depth. |

ROR for Trouba. Trub's can go play with his buddy Bogo. Oh sorry, he's hurt |

when are we getting Barkov? I kid of course, lol
if that list you provided is really what we are looking at, I say pass!!!
Enstrom and Dano can play all 5 positions on the ice at the same time, we need no help. |

Ross, You are too hilarious!! But, I agree with you, thanks PT for the list of has beens, pass!
But you know, if Chevy is trading picks and prospects for any the characters that PT just listed off, then don't make any moves at all. I am serious, if these are the players that are suppose to help the team get to or far into the playoffs then Chevy has my support to stand pat, go with our own depth. I have confidence in the current players and prospects. At some point these players have to step up and gain the experience themselves, as Blake Wheeler said, now is as good a time as any. Wheeler is a driver and I am confident that he will stick a prod up everyone's butt and get the job done. These characters listed in PT's posting are better off on their current team today. Keep the prospects and picks and trade after the season if this is what we can expect. |

Don't spend our assets on pluggers ... ya gotta shoot higher ... put other teams' needs together with our needs to upgrade ... given our war chest is healthy, now's the time to make bold moves ... we are not in the same position when we struck out and picked up the likes of Stempniak and Tlusty ... Chevy's gotta determine if Troubs is gonna stay or not and for less than a king's ransom
.
Chevy's gotta make an order-of-magnitude move and now's the time
.
I wonder who he could possibly target for a 'home-run' deal ? |

I wonder how Barkov is doing in Florida ? |

We should’ve kept Stempniak. He wanted to stay, and signed for 800K that offseason. |

I do jest but I'm going to stick with my last point:
No time for pluggers ... if Chevy just runs after pluggers - forget it - call up Lemieux, Roslovic, whomever
The Trouba question should to be answered before the deadline ... I know he's RFA only but still ... Byf's not going anywhere ... yet ... but $20M of cap on RHD is a whole lotta $$

I think you all have to look at the criteria again. This is not ‘who’ he is looking at it’s who fits the speculated criteria that Chevy may be operating with.
I’ll do part 3 with more comprehensive possibilities |

I liked Stempniak, journeyman player, always delivered where ever he went. I think he had some injury issues this year.

So nice of all the teams in our division to not lose any games during the Jets break. |

Absolutely. Gardiner is like Myers, but good. |

this is 100% proof you base all decisions solely on Advanced stats and have never watched him play.
Gardiner is like Postma, looks good on paper but makes bone head decisions all the time that directly cause goals against. To bad there is no advanced stat for " why in the world did he do that" |

According to Rexypoo, Enstrom is like Karlsson just left-handed. |

Stats are for losers - it’s been around for awhile that saying?
Question Enstrom lover- would he survive a full playoff round? It’s ok to be a fan but fandom with no objectivity is not good. He’s on pace for 7 goals in the last 4 years, the loyalty (both ways) has to expire this year.
When we faced Anaheim he was destroyed by the forechecking. A liability then and worse now.
He’s ok, can live with him for regular season but like a goon, not much help in the playoffs |

I hold out hope that the Jets look at a Barkov, Brassard, Jack Johnson, Ryan McDonough, Plecanak or even a Rick Nash rental. Truth is Jets could be a dangerous team in the playoffs, a piece or two could make it interesting. |

Once again....If we want to go for it and win the cup then we want Tavares. Isles are flailing and I doubt they make the playoffs. Jets have better assets to trade than any other contending team out there . Combine that with the huge salary cap room we have and Chevy really has the upper hand here vs any other team . I don't believe teams like Tampa have the cap room .
It all comes down to whether Tavares is willing to come to Winnipeg as a rental. I personally think he will be willing to do so because he really really wants his name on a cup and would quickly realize that with himself inserted into the Jets lineup our team will be hard to stop.
Tavares = 1st , 2nd, Copp or Poolman, + Petan or similar prospect.... and of course they save on his remaining salary for the rest of the season.
Just imagine Tavares setting up Laine like he does Josh Bailey. It would be epic.
Connor- Sheif- Wheeler
Ehlers - Tavares - Laine
Perreault - Little - Armia
Lowry - Hendricks - Tanev
Lets do it Chevy ! |
